TubeTrace® Type SP/MP – Thermon

Description

SP/MP is a steam or fluid heated tubing bundle designed for freeze protection and high-level process temperature maintenance. It is referred to as “Heavy” Steam Traced because the metallic tracer tube is in direct contact with the process tube(s). The tubes are cabled together to ensure maximum, consistent heat transfer along the entire length of the bundle. This configuration results in the process tube temperature being very close to the temperature of the steam in the tracer line, making it ideal for applications that require elevated process temperatures up to 205°C (400°F).

Features

• Heating Medium: Uses steam or hot fluid in an integrated tracer tube.
• Heat Transfer: Classified as “Heavy” Steam Traced because the metallic tracer tube is in direct contact with the process tube(s), allowing maximum heat transfer.
• Temperature Range: Can maintain process tube temperatures between 5°C (40°F) and 205°C (400°F).
• Low Differential: The typical temperature difference between the tracer tube and the process tube is less than 14°C (25°F), ensuring efficient heating.
• Maximum Exposure: Maximum steam temperature in the tracer is 205°C (400°F).
• Types: Available as SP (Single Process tube, Heavy Trace) or MP (Multiple Process tubes, Heavy Trace).
