TubeTrace® Type SI/MI – Thermon

Description

SI/MI is a steam or fluid heated tubing bundle designed for freeze protection and low-to-medium temperature process maintenance. It is referred to as “Light” Steam Traced because the metallic tracer tube is isolated (separated by insulation and reflective foil) from the process tube(s). This thermal isolation prevents the high heat of the steam from being fully transferred to the process tube, resulting in a significantly lower process tube temperature compared to the temperature of the steam in the tracer line. It is suitable for maintaining temperatures up to 121°C (250°F) with a maximum steam exposure temperature of 205°C (400°F).

Features

  • Heating Medium: Uses steam or hot fluid in an integrated tracer tube.
  • Heat Transfer: Classified as “Light” Steam Traced because the tracer tube is isolated from the process tube(s), preventing direct contact.
  • Temperature Range: Typically maintains process tube temperatures between 5°C (40°F) and 121°C (250°F).
  • Maximum Exposure: Maximum steam temperature in the tracer is 205°C (400°F).
  • Types: Available as SI (Single Isolated) for one process tube or MI (Multiple Isolated) for multiple process tubes.
  • Benefit: Provides consistent heat transfer and predictable performance for applications like analyzers and impulse lines where a moderate amount of heat is needed.
