Description
This is an electrically heated and insulated tubing bundle designed specifically for freeze protection and low-temperature process maintenance where the maximum operating or exposure temperatures are relatively low. The bundle utilizes BSX self-regulating heat tracing cable which can be cut to length in the field and is ideal for water freeze protection in outdoor instrument lines. It is an economical solution for applications where exposure to high temperatures (like steam purge) is not a concern, as the BSX cable itself has a lower temperature limit than other TubeTrace options.
Features
- Application: Primarily used for freeze protection and maintaining low process temperatures (typically up to 65°C / 150°F).
- Heat Trace Type: Uses BSX self-regulating heat trace, which automatically adjusts heat output in response to ambient temperature changes.
- Maximum Exposure Temperature: Maximum permissible exposure temperature (power off) is 85°C (185°F), making it unsuitable for steam purge applications.
- Installation: “Cut-to-length” feature simplifies field installation and minimizes waste.
- Cost-Effective: Often the most economical choice for freeze protection in ordinary (non-hazardous) and some hazardous areas where high-temperature exposure isn’t a factor.
- Types: Typically available as SE (Single Electric) for one process tube or ME (Multiple Electric) for multiple process tubes.
