Description
Elektra’s SnowTec Tuff electric heating mats are intended to heat driveways, ramps, walks, and porches, among other things. Because of a critical feature, outstanding resistance to very high transient exposure temperature (240°C), the SnowTec®Tuff is an ideal choice for installation in thermally difficult areas, even directly in asphalt.
SnowTec Tuff Heating mats are constructed from one side powered ELEKTRA TuffTec heating cables rated at about 40 W/running meter. The distance between each cable run is 10cm. All mats are 0.66m wide and range in length from 1.5 to 27m depending on the model. The “cold” power supply line in SnowTec mats is typically 4m long.
A portion of the product’s name, “Tuff,” is intended to be a play on the term “tough,” which denotes strength and durability, which perfectly define the properties of the mat. The SnowTec Tuff heating mats’ high thermal and mechanical resistance features allow them to be used in regions that are particularly vulnerable to tough installation and/or operating circumstances.
