Roofs are sized based on atmospheric, insulation, and cladding material loads. The impact of wind and snow loads, in particular, varies depending on the structure’s form, slope, and whether it’s open or closed.
Snow loads vary depending on the building’s elevation above sea level, the roof’s slope, and the building’s number of openings. When regional rainfall exceeds average, snow accumulates on the roof, coupled with wind loads, exceeding the calculated snow load and causing damage. Excessive loads can lead to roof collapse.

Wind and snowfall also cause gutters to freeze and icicles to form. Snow accumulated in the gutters turns to ice under the influence of the wind. Icing clogs downpipes, especially in the elbow area. Melting ice, blocked downpipes, cannot be drained, and it begins to seep into the building through facades and attics.

The adverse conditions caused by snow and ice accumulation on roofs and gutters can not only cause material damage to buildings but also endanger human life.
ELEKTRA Roof and Gutter Systems
– Provide reliable protection against damage caused by adverse weather conditions
– Eliminate the risk of icicles and snow accumulation on roofs
– Protect buildings and people
– Eliminate the need to shovel accumulated snow on roofs
– The system is maintenance-free.

ELEKTRA roof and gutter snow and ice prevention systems consist of a VCDR 30W/m² constant wattage heating cable, a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, a thermostat and system accessories.
Extremely easy to apply, ELEKTRA roof and gutter snow and ice prevention systems are automatically activated via the ETO2-4550, thermostat, and outside temperature and humidity sensors.

The system is installed by laying the cable inside the gutter, downpipe, and onto the roof surface. It is secured using the connecting accessories that make up the system.
The UV (ultraviolet) resistant modified PVC outer sheath protects the cable from the destructive effects of sunlight and guarantees long life in all weather conditions. The control unit of the constant wattage heating cables activates the system only when low temperature and high humidity occur, thus ensuring more economical operation of the system.

ELEKTRA electric heating systems offer safety and comfort to buildings and human life from an architectural and mechanical perspective.
